在選擇題中，Little和few以及它們各自不同的變化方式是一個(gè)經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)的考點(diǎn)。

Little and Few

Little和few都是數(shù)量詞，意思是“很少”。而且這兩個(gè)詞都有負(fù)面意義，意思是“沒有預(yù)期的那么多”。這兩個(gè)詞的區(qū)別在于:

little 不可數(shù)名詞

I’ve got little money left in my account.

few 可以數(shù)一數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)

Ben has few friends in London.

A Little and A Few

不同于little和few的含義，a little和 a few意味著“一些”。

同樣：

a little 不可數(shù)名詞

He has a little money left.

a few 可以數(shù)一數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)

He has a few dollars left.

a little和 a few可作為代詞單獨(dú)使用(在所指代詞明顯的前提下)：

After that, she began to tell them a little about her life in Scotland.

Don’t take all the strawberries. Just have a few.

另外，冠詞（a/an, the），指示詞（this, that），所有格（my, your）和代詞（him, them）前可以用a little of / a few of 去裝飾：

Put the flour into a bowl, blend with a little of the milk.

A few of his films were seen abroad.

Less and Fewer

Less是little的比較級(jí)別，fewer是few的比較級(jí)別，同樣：

Less 不可數(shù)名詞

Jeff drinks less alcohol than John.

Fewer 可以數(shù)一數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)

I have fewer pairs of shoes than I used to have.
