since ＆ for

"since" 和 "for" 與時間有關(guān)的用法不同：1、since 要與時間點一起使用，例如Mondy、January 和 2009；2、for 它與時間段一起使用，例如 30 minutes、6 months 和 10 years。3、"for" 它可以用于所有時態(tài)，但是 "since" 一般用于完成。

例:① He jogs for 1 hour everyday.這句話中 "for" 后面跟著一段時間。② He's been jogging since 7 am.這句話中 "since" 后面跟著一個時間點。

fewer ＆less

"fewer" 和 "less" 適用的名詞類型完全相反：1、"fewer" 適用于可數(shù)名詞，例如books、cars、people 或是 cups.2、"less" 例如，適用于不可數(shù)名詞，love、water、electricity 或是 information.

例:

① This parking lot is too crowded. I wish there were fewer cars.語句中的 car 這是一個可數(shù)名詞，所以在前面使用 "fewer" 裝飾。② I wish you would turn off the lights, so we could use less electricity.這兒的 electricity 它是一個不可數(shù)的名詞，所以使用它 "less" 來修飾。

介詞by的用法

1、 意指“在……旁邊，近。Some are singing and dancing under a big tree。Some are drawing by the lake。有的在樹下唱歌。有的在湖邊畫畫。

2、意指不遲……時為止”。Your son will be all right by supper time。晚飯前你兒子會好的。How many English songs had you learned by the end of last term？上學(xué)期末你學(xué)了多少英語歌？

3、表示方法、方法，可以翻譯為靠、用、憑、通過、乘坐等。The monkey was hanging from the tree by his tail and laughing。猴子用尾巴掛在樹上大笑。The boy’s father was so thankful that he taught Edison how to send messages by railway telegraph。孩子的父親非常感激，所以他教愛迪生如何通過鐵路電報傳遞信息。

4、表示逐一、逐批的意思。One by one they went past the table in the dark。在黑暗中，他們一個接一個地經(jīng)過這張桌子。

5、表示根據(jù)、根據(jù)的含義。What time is it by your watch？你的表幾點了？

6、和take ， hold等動詞聯(lián)合使用，表示觸摸人體的某一部分。I took him by the hand。我握住他的手。

7、被動句用于表示主體，常翻譯為被、由等。English is spoken by many people。很多人說英語。

動名詞（doing）

動名詞相當(dāng)于名詞

能做主語、賓語、表語、定語等。

1、作主語

Fighting broke out between the South and the North。南北之戰(zhàn)。2、作賓語Would you mind turning down your radio a little， please？請問您是否在意調(diào)低收音機的聲音？3、作表語Babysister’s job is washing，cooking and taking care of the children。保姆的工作是洗衣服、做飯和照顧孩子。4、做定語a washing machine 一臺洗衣機
