As, when和while兩者都是連詞，但在某些前提下，三者也會(huì)有一點(diǎn)區(qū)別。

As, when or while

我們可以用as, when和while來表示“當(dāng)...同時(shí)發(fā)生的兩個(gè)事件：

Another family arrived as we were leaving.

When my father was out working in the field, I helped with milking the cows, feeding the pigs.

我們也可以使用as, when和while 背景事件在過去用于表示：

As she was leaving the court, a crowd of photographers gathered around her.

Steven was very unhappy when things weren't going well for him.

As

我們用as同時(shí)發(fā)生的兩件事。As以后可以用過去時(shí)/過去時(shí)，用過去時(shí)更強(qiáng)調(diào)一件事打斷另一件事，or發(fā)生在另一個(gè)過程中。

As she walked to the door, she thanked them for a lovely dinner.

As they were signing the contract, they noticed that a page was missing.

When

我們可以用when介紹在較長事件中間發(fā)生的單個(gè)和完成的事件。在這種情況下，我們通常在應(yīng)用主句時(shí)描述較長的背景事件:

He was walking back to his flat when he heard an explosion.

根據(jù)前后文，when可以表示afterat the same time”的意思：

When（=After）you open the file, check the second page.

I eat popcorn when I am watching TV. （=at the same time）

我們常用just和when用來表達(dá)事情發(fā)生在同一時(shí)刻：

The phone always rings just when I'm closing the front door.

While

我們一般用while連接兩個(gè)事件同時(shí)發(fā)生，個(gè)事件持續(xù)時(shí)間較長：

We spent long evenings talking in my sitting-room while he played the music he had chosen and explained his ideas.

We were lying on the beach sunbathing while they were playing volleyball.
